Dublin Street Photography by Ciaran Burke

Capturing Dublin with an iPhone

Dublin is a city full of experiences. It has its unique personality, or rather personalities. The buildings;old and new, modern or derelict. The people; old Dubliners and newcomers alike, all add to the colour and character.

The Dublin of traditional postcards and souvenir shops is a nostalgic one, based on marketing and myth. When I walk around Dublin I see a different reality, not the idealised folk city. Its not always pretty in the conventional sense, but it is always beautiful, colourful and full of warm character.

I photograph the things that I find interesting, words and writing, reflections and shadows, lights and darkness. Capturing a moment, preserving our times and the story of the city and suburbs, the current narrative in pictures.

I hope you enjoy Dublin through my lens…
